Defy the Construct
The idea that feeling is a weakness or being deemed sensitive to be slighted is entirely lost on compassion. One of the most interpersonal interactions a person can have is reeling in the emotional turmoil of another. Having the cognitive ability to see life through the eyes of another human being, to understand their emotional response and their circumstance, is not fragility; it is defiance.
Androcentrism has polluted the way we comprehend sympathy and how we volunteer our empathy. The act of giving is rebellious by nature, for it goes against the individual mechanics of self. It requires vulnerability, and in being vulnerable, we not only defy our instinct for security but also the patriarchy that has implanted the idea that emotion is a form of frailty.
There is something to be said about the équilibre of men embracing their femininity, just as women should embrace their masculinity. It is illogical to bind emotion to gender. This has been intentionally broadcast to suppress. We have been fed falsehoods that declare certain feelings do not align with our prescribed roles.
To deny yourself the study of emotion is to gatekeep your own humanity. Emotions are not distributed between men and women; they are a prescription, a means to perceive the world and what lies yet undiscovered. Defy the construct. Defy the conditioning. Free your mind, and think beyond control.
