Is Blood Thicker Than Water?

From a medical standpoint, yes! Otherwise, this is not the same understanding of the 12th-century proverb.

We are creatures of habit. We may originate from differing bloodlines, but the only undisputed choice we have is who we decide to share our energy with. The notion that we cannot choose our family is a misconception. When we feel we may have no one left in our lives, how far are we willing to go?

Navigating life alone is nearly impossible. While some can manage it, doing so runs counter to our human instincts for connection. Not everyone has the mental resilience to face such isolation. So what happens when support from family or friends is not there, even after you have made every effort to communicate and invite change? It is important to understand: you are not the problem. Many people resist growth because it is easier to stay ignorant than to confront the hard truths. Their dismissal of your feelings often stems, not from malice, but from emotional laziness. If you have practiced shadow work, you already know how challenging genuine self-reflection can be, and how rare it is in others.

It may be seen as taboo to remove these relationships from your life, but what is the other option?

β€œThe blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.”
